Current Sharp Cash Register line up

Sharp have released a few new cash registers and retired a few models. Overall they have improved their line up however we will miss a few of the retired models like the Sharp ER-A320 which had been a mainstay for years. Here is the current line up of commercial grade Sharp cash registers.

The entire line up can use the optional credit card interface with Datacap or a Hypercom terminal. This line up are all commercial grade models. Sharp also makes a consumer line that we do not support we only sell and support the commercial grade line that begin with ER or UP.

If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call. 1-800-863-2274

Sharp ER-A320 cash register still available

Sharp ER-A320 cash registers
Sharp ER-A320 Cash Register

The cash register guys still have a handful of Sharp ER-A320 cash registers left that are new in box. The ER-A320 was discontinued mid 2012 even though it was one of the best selling Sharp cash register ever.

The ER-A320 is a work horse of a machine. This machine was very simple, durable and cost effective it's a shame it is gone. This was not a result of Sharp buy rather Epson who made the printer stopped production of the printer used in the A320.

As far as I know there is not yet a direct replacement for the A320 however rumors have been flotaing around that a new model is on the way? The closest thing to a replacment right now is the Sharp ER-A247 or the ER-A347 both of which are great cash registers however pretty different from the A320.

Sharp ER-A320 Cash Register

There are two sites that still have some Sharp ER-A320 Cash Registers. If you have not heard Sharp stopped making them because Epson stopped making the printer used in them. Quite a shame because they were great registers. If these are the registers you use buy a back up or buy registers you need for future projects now while they are still around.

Here is a link where you can find the A320 Cash Register

Sharp ER-A320 cash register

The Sharp ER-A320 won't be around much longer which is a real shame. this cash register was a work horse and easy to use. However there are still some available however if you need one you should act quickly as I don't think they will last long.

Paper and inking supplies for Sharp Cash Registers

Here is a good link to find supplies for cash registers including the hard to find ER-A320 ink roller which also works in the A330 and several other registers.

They have the 44mm thermal and 44mm bond as well as all the ink ribbons cartridges and rollers.

Since we are talking about ink supplies please remember NEVER EVER re-ink your cash register's ink roller. You also replace with a factory inked roller. If you apply ink to an old roller and put it in your cash register most of the time it ruins it!

Sharp ER-A330 Cash Register

The Sharp ER-A330 is meeting the same fate as the ER-A320 Both of these models have been work horses of the Sharp Cash Register line however the printer they use is no longer made by Epson so Sharp has to pull the plug. Parts will be available for years and years and should become an issue for quite awhile.

Sharp has not released a replacement for these two models. The did release the ER-A247 and the ER-A347 which are great registers however they both use thermal paper and have quite a few more features than either the A320 or A330

Sharp ER-A320 Cash Register

The Sharp ER-A320 cash register has been one of the best selling cash registers on the market for years and years. This model is a workhorse and easy to use, takes abuse and keeps coming back for more.

The bad news is the Sharp ER-A320 cash register is no longer being made. In this case it is not Sharp's fault as Epson who makes the printer for this model stopped making the printer and Sharp had no choice but to end the A320's life. There will still be parts for a very long time and I would not hesitate to buy this machine because of this news. As a matter of fact if this is a model your business uses on a regular basis I would buy a few while they are available.

As far as I know Sharp has not released any news about a replacement with a bond printer. They did release two new models that are great but they both have thermal printers. The new machines also include many features not found in the A320 like computer interface, SD card port, credit card terminal interface and a multi-line LCD display.

Sharp ER-A320 Cash Register

The Sharp ER-A320 is still the work horse of the commercial grade Sharp Cash Registers. It has some limitations of course but what it does it does very well! We often refer to them as "little tanks". If you don't need anything fancy and can get by with just numeric print than the A320 is a great choice for you!

Sharp Cash Registers

Sharp continues to make some of the best cash registers on the market. The work horse Sharp ER-A320 is still one of the best selling models. It is tough and easy to use. They also make very high end registers as well. Check them all out before you buy your next cash register.

Did you know Sharp makes a couple lines of commercial grade cash registers. The commercial grade register's model numbers begin with ER or UP. Sharp makes a line called the XE line which is consumer grade and while they have some nice features they are not heavy duty like the ER and UP models.

The ER and UP line includes the following

Don't forget the XE line are not the same quality as the ER and UP models. Taken care of a good commercial grade cash register should last in a normal busy business about 5 to 7 years of course there are exceptions in both directions!

Sharp ER-A320 and Credit Card Interface

Sorry as great a machine as the A320 and the A330 both are either one can have interfaced credit card. These two machines do not have serial ports nor do they have alpha-numeric printers. If you need a hard working commercial grade register you can't go wrong but if you need more advanced features you have to move up the model ladder!

Weight           32 lbs (12.5 kg)                                               30 lbs (13.7 kg)

I know all techie and does not seem to be a big help. Big point was the A330 can have the 2nd drawer the A320 can not. The chart says the A320 does not have a logo stamp but I think it does.

The A320 and the A330 both use the IR-90/91 ink roller and 44mm bond paper NOT THERMAL. These machines are numeric only no alpha printing. Both have good metal drawers with hard plastic removeable tills. Both machines are heavy duty and taken care of I see them last 5+ years all the time no reason to not be able to get 10 years out of some of them in the right location and well taken care of.

The work horse of the Sharp line up the A320 still chugging along

The Sharp ER-A320 has been the work horse of the Sharp Commercial grade cash register line for quite awhile and it does not look like anything will be changing for 2011. Sure hope not because we sell a lot of the Sharp ERA-320 registers.

The two places with the best prices for this model are:
Both sites offer a 1 year warranty on most every model but check each one if unsure. Both site also offer support and supplies.

IR-90/91 Ink Rollers for the Sharp ER-A320 and other models

The IR-90/91 ink roller works in many Sharp cash registers and is still available through several on-line retailers. These ink roller is the work horse of the heavy duty drum sytle printers. The ink roller should be changed often and before it reaches a point where you can not read the print. Never ever try and re-ink a roller as you will in most cases destroy the cash register all to save about $5.00 or so! So here are some sources for the rollers

Sharp Cash Registers

It has been awhile since Sharp has introduced any new Cash Registers at least in the commercial line up. The last ones released were the UP-820F and the UP-820N and both are great machines. The Sharp ER-A320 is still the work horse of the Sharp line up. Built like a tank and easy to use can't go wrong with that!
