Do you need to convert your Sharp UP-700 to a new cash register or POS system?

Are you still using a Sharp UP-700 Cash Register?

We used to sell and support quite a few UP-700 registers but they have not been made in over five years. If you are still using one you might want to make the switch to a new modern SAM4s register as soon as you can. We do hear from users all the time that have waited until it is too late. Don't let that happen to you. The SAM4s model SAP-630F is a superior system that has many features the Sharp does not have. One of the huge features the SAM4s has that the Sharp does not is the ability to integrate with EMV pin pads. If you are ready to make the move to a modern solution give us a call at 800-863-2274 or online at The Sharp UP-700 Replacement

Programming a Sharp Cash Register

Do you need help programming a cash register? Did your sales tax increase and you don't know how to change it? Well we can help but before you call please be aware that our support is not free? Everyday people call us that bough cash registers from big box stores and they don't know how to program them. They call us and become mad that we charge for our services. Why would any company support something for free that they did not sell? Does that make any sense at all? So if you don't mind paying for service give us a call and we will see if we can help. There are many cash registers in the big box stores that we CAN'T help with because we lack the manuals. Call us with the make and model and we will let you know right away if we can help. If your register model starts with XE then we probably can't help, if it starts with PCR we can't help.

Here is a small list of the registers we can support
  • All SAM4s registers
  • Most all Samsung cash registers
  • Sharp models that begin with ER, or UP such as Sharp ER-A520 or UP-700
On a daily basis we support Sharp Cash Registers as well as SAM4s Cash Registers. We also support add on products like the Datacap Twin Tran cash register credit card interface

Cash registers designed for restaurants

There are quite a few great cash registers for restaurants from SAM4s and Sharp. You do need to take consideration of the type of restaurant and the way you operate. Some cash registers are more suited for quick service restaurants and some for table service. Other considerations are how many cash registers you will have, do you want you cash register interfaced to credit card payments, kitchen printer, kitchen video etc.

For quick service restaurants that only need one cash register here are a few good models
Keep in mind that all the machines listed below will also work for a one cash register business however the registers listed above may not be suitable for multi register installations if IRC is required.

Here is a list of cash registers that work great in multi register quick service or table service restaurants that wish to operate w guest check system.
The difference between the two groups of registers is that the second group all have the IRC feature and the ability to have guest checks. Both groups have cash registers can use the Datacap Twin Tran for credit card interface.

Current Sharp Cash Register line up

Sharp have released a few new cash registers and retired a few models. Overall they have improved their line up however we will miss a few of the retired models like the Sharp ER-A320 which had been a mainstay for years. Here is the current line up of commercial grade Sharp cash registers.

The entire line up can use the optional credit card interface with Datacap or a Hypercom terminal. This line up are all commercial grade models. Sharp also makes a consumer line that we do not support we only sell and support the commercial grade line that begin with ER or UP.

If you have any questions please feel free to give us a call. 1-800-863-2274

Sharp makes two lines of cash registers

Most customers have no idea that their are two lines of Sharp cash registers. There is the consumer grade models that all begin with the letters XE like the XE-A101 etc. than there is the commercial grade line that begins with the letters ER or UP as in ER-A530 or UP-700

Most commercial cash registers dealers like us do not do any type of support with the XE models. Sharp views the XE line as a disposable cash register, need support or repair than I think they expect you to throw it away and buy another one. The few times I have been able to find parts for an XE model from Sharp the price is horrible and then I get chewed out by someone looking for a part so we don't even attempt to price out parts for XE models any longer so please don't ask us to.

We so repair and support all the ER and UP models of cash registers and Sharp does a great job of keeping parts and support available for most of them.

If you have a busy store or restaurant and security is a concern DO NOT USE a XE model. Yes a few of the of loaded with features and cheap they do not hold up. They do work well for some owner operators that don't have a real high volume.

Did you know Sharp makes a couple lines of commercial grade cash registers. The commercial grade register's model numbers begin with ER or UP. Sharp makes a line called the XE line which is consumer grade and while they have some nice features they are not heavy duty like the ER and UP models.

The ER and UP line includes the following

Don't forget the XE line are not the same quality as the ER and UP models. Taken care of a good commercial grade cash register should last in a normal busy business about 5 to 7 years of course there are exceptions in both directions!
