Sharp UP-800 series vs The SAM4s SPS-500 series

Both of these cash registers series are powerful and very advanced. They both look very nice in the only color they come in which is black. Regardless of make both series have models for food service and retail stores. Bar code scanning ability if standard with either make.

Where the two makes start to part ways is in the cost of options. As an example the optional memory for the SAM4s is $75.00 and can be installed by the end-user while the Sharp memory is $299.00 and most end-users would be over their head trying to install.

The PC Poll back office software is available at the same cost for either the Sharp series or the SAM4s series.

The credit card interface is the same for both and accomplished by the Datacap Twin Tran device.

Bottom line is both machines are powerful and have features that most stores or restaurants desire, they are scalable, upgradable and should last for years

The Sharp ER-A320 is still the work horse of the commercial grade Sharp Cash Registers. It has some limitations of course but what it does it does very well! We often refer to them as "little tanks". If you don't need anything fancy and can get by with just numeric print than the A320 is a great choice for you!
