Sharp cash register supplies

The cash register guys carry the harder to find cash register receipt paper and ink ribbons and rollers. One paper size in particular that seems to be harder for people to find is the 44mm thermal paper. Many Sharp cash registers use 44mm paper including many XE models.

Sharp cash register service key

Sometimes you will need a service key for specific programming of your commercial grade Sharp cash register. The service key is a dealer only tool that is not included with your purchase of a Sharp cash register. Even as a dealer we are not given keys and must buy them separately from the cash registers.

Every now and then a cash register will become locked up for sometimes unknown reasons or perhaps a error you can't recover from and will need a service reset. A service reset is akin to a reboot of a computer, it restarts and clears the state the register was stuck in (in most cases) and does no harm to the register or programming. The service key allows you to perform a service reset. In the worst case you cash register becomes corrupt from power or other problem and you are forced to perform a master reset you would also need the service key.

There are other reasons for a service key with Sharp cash registers. In many cases the way a cash register works is determined by the service programming dome with the service key.

Sharp cash register supplies including the IR-90/91 ink roller

It seems like cash register supplies are getting harder to find and I only noticed this because my company is shipping more 44mm bond paper rolls and IR-90/1 ink rollers all over the country.

Keyboard covers for Sharp cash registers will keep your machine running and easy to use

Flat keyboard cash registers need to have the overlay (keyboard cover) replaced from time to time. There is no definitive time frame as it all depends on use and environment. If your place is busy and you cook items near the register or allow smoking in your establishment chance are you will need to replace your keyboard cover more often. Having said that I do think once a year is about average for most machines.

Keyboard covers are made for flat restaurant style registers as well as registers designed for retail with raised keys. Of course in food service your machine is facing more dangers but don't forget in the retail world dangers lurk too!

Most keyboard covers no longer cover the key or the credit card reader. There are a few older models that the key area is covered however the key hole is still vulnerable.

Over the years we have seen $20.00 keyboard covers save a machine from spills of everything possible! You can never be too safe and the cost of doing business without a register is far greater then the cost of a cover.

Need supplies for your cash register?

Some cash register supplies are becoming harder to find. Lucky for you we make an effort to stock even the more rare inkers and paper. We stock bond paper rolls in 44mm and 2.25" sizes and in thermal we stock 44mm, 2.25", 3 1/8th" all of which work in many cash registers. Do you want to print your own cash register keyboard templates?

Today's technology now allows you to create your own custom keyboard templates for cash registers. Whether it is a SAM4s, Sharp or Casio you can now create new keyboard overlays with MS Word or Excel whenever you like.

In the good old days your dealer would have a proprietary software and printer that created these keyboard. Believe me because I once paid $1500.00 for a custom software package and plotter to make keyboards and that was when $1500.00 was a lot of money (1985)!

Here are several cash register keyboard templates available for free down load. I always advise people to print a blank one first to test for size, also make sure you printer is not shrinking to fit and almost every register will need legal size paper not letter size!

It is very easy to change the keyboard on your Sharp cash register when you have a keyboard template. You can find Sharp cash register keyboard template for download, which will allow you to change and re-print when ever you like or just when you make changes. Don't pay a cash register dealer big bucks for a print out and do it yourself.

If you can't find the model you need try printing one from a model that is close and see if it fits. You will be surprised how many keyboards are the same, however in case it does not print then you might be able to alter the template you downloaded.

Sharp ER-A320 registers are gone

On Friday the 12th we sold our last Sharp ER-A320 cash register. Bitter sweet day because that was one of the best selling Sharp cash registers we have ever sold however compared with the newest machines it was quite dated. Sharp has still not come out with a specific replacement model for it yet.

When Sharp ended the ER-A320 they ended production of any register that uses bond receipt paper. All of the current Sharp models use thermal paper.

Sharp cash register keyboard templates

People are always contacting us looking for templates to change the keyboard of their cash register whether it is a SAM4s or a Sharp. Here is a site that has several different models keyboard templates. Also if you can't find your model find one that is close and change it. Most often they are just word docs.

These templates allow you to customize every space including text and color. Then you can print as many as you need to or change as needed.

Ink Roller for the Sharp ER-A320 and ER-A330

The recently retired workhorse of the Sharp cash register line up the ER-A320 uses an ink roller and 44mm bond paper in the printer. Both the paper and the ribbons have been harder to find lately as so many registers use thermal printers now.

If you have never changed an ink roller before please pay attention to the old one and how it is installed before you remove it so you can install the new one.

As long as you store the rollers in a moderate temp they have a great shelf life.

We stock the paper and ink roller for the Sharp ER-A320 and for the ER-A330. They use the same size paper and the same ink roller. Make sure you never try and re-ink that roller, always replace it with a new one. Also keep paper in both the receipt side and the journal side as operating the register without one of them will destroy the cash register.
